The Supervised Visitation Aide supports the safe, structured, and supportive operation of the Supervised Visitation
program for families involved with the child welfare system. This role is responsible for monitoring and documenting
visits between parents and children, ensuring a comfortable, welcoming, and trauma-informed environment. The
Aide promotes positive interactions while maintaining safety, neutrality, and compliance with agency, state, and
federal guidelines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
● Visitation Supervision & Support
○ Provide direct supervision during family visits to ensure safety and compliance with visitation
guidelines.
○ Create a welcoming, child-friendly, and supportive environment that promotes positive
parent–child interactions.
○ Intervene when necessary to redirect inappropriate behavior, ensuring a safe and structured visit.
○ Support parents in engaging positively with their children, while maintaining professional
boundaries and neutrality.
● Family Engagement & Observation
○ Observe, document, and report on family interactions during visits, noting strengths, challenges,
and areas of concern.
○ Provide clear, factual, and timely written documentation for case records and court-related
reporting.
○ Maintain open and professional communication with caseworkers, supervisors, and other
stakeholders regarding visit progress.
○ Uphold confidentiality in all matters related to families and cases.
● Safety & Compliance
○ Ensure visits occur in accordance with court orders, case plans, and agency policies.
○ Conduct pre- and post-visit checks of visitation rooms or community locations to ensure safety and
cleanliness.
○ Report any incidents, safety concerns, or violations of visitation rules promptly to the supervisor.
○ Follow all VisionQuest policies, child welfare regulations, and Occupational Health and Safety
standards.
● Teamwork & Training
○ Work collaboratively with Children and Youth Services staff, caseworkers, and VisionQuest
colleagues to support case goals.
○ Participate in required trainings, including trauma-informed care, mandated reporting, first
aid/CPR, and crisis intervention.
○ Assist with the orientation and training of new visitation staff as reques
