Damen Naval in Vlissingen is looking for an interim <b><span>Senior Engineer Structures</span></b> to contribute to the engineering of state-of-the-art ship structures. If you have a passion for naval engineering, expertise in 2D and 3D modelling, and thrive in a collaborative environment, this is the opportunity for you!</p><p></p><p><b>Key accountabilities</b><br/>In this interim role of Senior Engineer Structures, your responsibilities will include:</p><ul><li>Develop 3D models of ship structures, construction plans, section and foundation drawings, and outer deck arrangements.</li><li>Execute engineering activities using 2D and 3D PLM tools, ensuring adherence to schedules, quality standards, and budget constraints.</li><li>Independently manage complex projects and provide guidance to colleagues.</li><li>Collaborate across disciplines to deliver optimal solutions.</li><li>Advise on technical challenges, suggest improvements, and participate in stakeholder discussions to achieve consensus.</li><li>Oversee outsourced detailed engineering, verifying subcontractors’ technical performance.</li><li>Ensure compliance with statutory rules, regulations, and industry norms.</li><li>Develop yard and project standards and contribute to the continuous improvement of departmental processes.</li><li>Foster knowledge sharing and retention within the department.<br/> </li></ul><p><b>Skills &amp; experience</b><br/>For the vacancy of <span>Senior Engineer Structures (Interim)</span> Damen Naval is looking for candidates with the following qualifications:</p><ul><li>Bachelor degree in a technical field, with at least years of relevant experience.</li><li>Extensive knowledge of structures engineering, preferably for ships or offshore installations.</li><li>Proficiency in 2D and 3D PLM tools, ideally 3DX.</li><li>Proven expertise in structures engineering, particularly in complex projects involving statutory bodies, vendors, and subcontractors.</li><li>Strong track record of delivering high-quality engineering solutions.</li><li>Proficiency in English; Dutch language skills are a plus.</li><li>Key competencies: customer, results and quality orientation, teamwork, behavioural flexibility, problem analysis, communication, and initiative.</li><li>Excellent references, as a security screening is part of the hiring process.</li><li>Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required.
