As a Senior Manager of Accounting on the Card Controllers project team you will be leading a team through initiatives that support our Card line of business and transform our Finance organization.  You will have the opportunity to be involved in progressive project work with exposure to senior management and various departments across the Company.

Responsibilities:

• Lead large complex initiatives by providing strategic direction to partners, peers, and direct reports.

• Lead a highly dynamic and cross-functional team

• Understand customer expectations; current gaps & technical constraints; drive requirements and ultimately partner with the line of business and finance teams.

• Leverage problem solving and influencing skills to ensure the initiative delivers on intent

• Partner cross-functionally with customers to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership to effectively drive delivery

• Build relationships and collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure delivery of commitments

• Demonstrate a proven track record of excellent project management, bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage work in a dynamic complex environment.

• Display a passion for coaching and developing a team of associates through their leadership style

• Have excellent communication and partnership skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders at all levels across the company to manage, inform and influence outcomes

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills

• Ability to multitask and prioritize diverse tasks

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or military experience

• At least 7 years of experience in accounting, or in accounting system integration, or in finance,  or in audit, or a combination

• At least 4 years of experience in project management OR product management 

• At least 4 years of people management experience

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 5 years of banking or finance industry experience

• At least 3 years of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and reconciliation system experience

• At least 2 years data analysis experience (Tableau, Python, SQL or a combination)

• Certified Public Accountant license

• Project Management Professional (PMP), or Lean or Agile Certifications (Product Owner, or Agile Project Mgmt,  or SAFe Scaled Agilist)

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $170,800 - $194,900 for Sr. Manager, Accounting

 

Richmond, VA: $155,300 - $177,200 for Sr. Manager, Accounting

 

Wilmington, DE: $155,300 - $177,200 for Sr. Manager, Accounting

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
