How You’ll Contribute:
Provide day-to-day leadership, technical oversight, and operational coordination for all broadcast and audiovisual (AV) maintenance activities within a secure, multi-facility federal environment. Supervision of a team of technicians and the reliability and readiness of all broadcast systems. Serve as the primary point of contact for technical escalations, project planning, and system upgrades. Accountable for resource allocation, task prioritization, adherence to technical and security standards, and ensuring the timely submission of contractually required reports and documentation.
What You’ll Do:
• Supervise and mentor broadcast maintenance staff; manage schedules and coverage to ensure adequate coverage for planned and emergency support needs.
• Oversee maintenance, repair, and upgrades of all facility broadcast and AV systems (Baseband/IP routers, editing, graphics, transmission, automation control, etc.).
• Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for operational issues.
• Develop, implement, and enforce preventative maintenance schedules for all broadcast and AV systems, ensuring compliance with technical, operational, and security standards.
• Monitor system performance metrics and proactively address trends impacting reliability.
• Plan and manage system upgrades and all reports, drawings, and documentation, maintaining a high level of attention to detail and accurate record keeping.
• Oversee technical support for live and remote events, including high profile events.
• Prepare and deliver daily personnel schedules, weekly summaries, monthly event breakdowns, quarterly program reviews, and post-event audio/video briefings.
• Serve as main technical contact for clients and stakeholders. Communicate technical requirements and production plans. Attend planning meetings and deliver high-quality customer service.
What You’ll Bring:

Required Skills/Qualifications:
• Must have a minimum of active interim security clearance and ability to obtain/maintain active TS/SCI clearance.
• 7+ years in broadcast system maintenance/AV engineering, including 2+ years in supervision and leading a team.
• Expertise in broadcast systems, AV, IT/digital, IP, fiber, and distribution.
• Strong personnel management, troubleshooting, and project management skills.
• Ability to create and interpret technical documentation.
• Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
• Experience in federal government or major TV network broadcast operations.
• Relevant broadcast and IT industry certifications.
• Knowledge of modern broadcast/IP protocols (SMPTE ST 2110, KVM-over-IP, Dante, AES67, NDI) and compression and streaming standards (AVC, HEVC, MPEG, RTMP, SRT, HLS).
• Experience with federal contract compliance and reporting.
Work Schedule:
• Monday–Friday, flexible shifts (7:00 AM–5:00 PM)
• On-call coverage for evenings, weekends, holidays.
• Fully on-site at a secure federal facility in the Washington D.C. area.
