 The Production Supervisor is an integral part of the manufacturing process and must be able to comprehend the complexity of operations.  The ideal candidate will be able to optimize day-to-day activities while minimizing costs.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position is responsible for supervising a group of personnel who perform somewhat identical and related tasks or activities.  The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and directing production operations.  They ensure best methods are uniformly utilized with respect to production practices and Triumph Foods Policies.  They guarantee manufacturing remains a smooth and efficient process by monitoring employees and organizing workflow.  

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

·       Set daily/weekly/monthly objectives and communicate them to personnel

·       Organize workflow by assigning responsibilities, preparing schedules and outlining duties

·       Monitor the work of employees, provide feedback and perform coaching or counseling

·       Ensure the safe use of equipment and schedule regular maintenance

·       Check production output according to determined quality specifications

·       Prepare and submit reports on individual and overall performance

·       Revise procedures, identify issues in efficiency and suggest ways of improvement

·       Train new employees on how to safely use machinery and accurately follow procedures

·       Enforce strict safety guidelines and company standards

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the work environment, knowledge, skill, and/or ability required or preferred.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

 

  • 4-year degree in a technical, engineering, management, or relevant field is preferred.  3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing industry; 2 years fresh pork experience is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Ability to write reports and business correspondence.  Ability to effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines.

 

  • Ability to read and interpret documents in the English language such as safety files, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Must be able to effectively communicate with USDA, production and management personnel.

 

  • Ability to apply mathematical applications to practical situations. Demonstrated ability to understand basic statistics for process control.

 

  • Ability to solve practical problems.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

  • Advanced skills in MS Office.  Ability to use computers used by the industry and the ability to learn and effectively use any and all other computer programs that are or will be made available.
