Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is seeking a Staff Embedded Software Engineer that will lead a cross-discipline engineering team, manage the one of the largest cost accounts on one of the largest programs at NGMS, and interface with Engineering & Program Management. The selected candidates will perform in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings.
 
We are looking for you to join our team as a Staff Embedded Software Engineer based out of Linthicum, MD. 

As a Staff Embedded Software Engineer within the Software and Digital Technologies Organization you will have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to be a part of our Enterprise-wide digital transformation. Using Model-based Engineering, DevSecOps and Agile practices we continue to evolve how we deliver critical national defense products and capabilities for the warfighter. The successful candidate will be collaborative, open, transparent, and team oriented with a focus on team empowerment & shared responsibility, flexibility, continuous learning and a culture of automation.
 
Roles and Responsibilities: 
•    Lead and direct cross-functional engineering teams during the EMD phase
•    Lead staffing efforts for each team, ensuring appropriate skill mix and coverage
•    Plan and coordinate bench time priorities across engineering program initiatives
•    Manage and maintain Jira boards to track progress and issues, documenting and resolving blockers impacting team performance
•    Develop and execute to project budgets and schedules, including Earned Value Management System (EVMS), critical path management, Estimates-at-Completion (EACs), and workload forecasts 
•    Maintain and communicate capability delivery schedules
•    Support proposal development and new program acquisition efforts 
•    Interpret statements of work assigned by program leadership 
•    Work with suppliers and be able to articulate project requirements 
•    Brief internal and external customer leadership on progress of work assigned 

This position is contingent upon a successful DoD Secret clearance transfer.

Basic Qualifications:
•    Bachelor’s Degree with 12 years of experience, Master’s degree with 10 year
