Weekend Extraction Lead (AM)

Roles and Responsibilities:

•    Provides training to new associates and lead peers on a production line by communicating tasks and giving instructions to ensure maximum quality and productivity
•    Performs scheduled process monitoring following good manufacturing practices and communicates with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials
•    Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members regarding production goals and potential issues.
•    Maintain accurate records of production output, machine performance, and any maintenance performed.
•    Observe production staff and monitor equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
•    Report operational and production data on specified forms.
•    Review batch tickets and verify ERP system against product documentation. Will provide leadership on formulation questions to staff.
•    Sets up, and controls processes, i.e. blending, extraction and filtration. Completes appropriate documentation. 
•    Operates process and utility equipment in a hygienic and safe manner in accordance with all process procedures, cGMP and HAACP instructions and guidelines. Acts in such a way that safety awareness and accident prevention are considered in the performance of all tasks. 
•    Tears down, cleans and re-assembles equipment, i.e. pumps, grinders, valves, etc. Clean utensils, vessels and lines. 
•    Identifies, troubleshoots, and responds to deviations in process, product, equipment, and performance variations. 
•    Performs minor maintenance work on equipment when necessary to ensure continuous operation of process. 
•    Completes the daily, weekly, and monthly sanitation schedules 
•    Follow standard instructions to package products to specifications 
•    Lifting of heavy drums and bags and wearing proper PPE 

Qualifications & Skills Required:

•    High School Diploma or GED, documentation skills, math skills is required with at least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment plant preferred.
•    Ability to lead peers and desire to take on greater levels of leadership responsibility in the future
•    Must have the ability to communicate effectively with the production team and supporting departments (quality, maintenance, planning, purchasing and customer service)
•    Technical, mechanical aptitude for initial basic troubleshooting
•    Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment
•    Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs., stand on feet for prolonged periods of time and climb stairs as needed. Equipment noise is elevated requiring the use of hearing protection. Seasonal temperatures can be expected
•    Must have attention to detail to plan and schedule the production workload, monitor labor requirements needed and keep the production area clean and audit ready.
•    Must follow safety requirements and ensure the production team follows the PPE requirements (safety shoes, safety glasses, face shield and respirator).
•    Basic computer skills to maintain efficient operation and control of equipment or systems.
•    Troubleshooting or problem-solving skills to determine causes of any inventory inaccuracies or Quality hold issues and make recommendations to potential fixes.
•    The employee is required to wear a respirator after a doctor’s approval and successfully passing the fit and pulmonary test.
•    Previous leadership experience preferred.

Salary range: $24.98 - $31.23
