Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Corrections is seeking a dedicated Office Coordinator to generate a variety of documents at Menard Correctional Center. They will serve as administrative secretary, assist with the fiscal audit process, and perform clerical duties for the Business Office. This person will need to have strong attention to detail, integrity and ability to effectively communicate with multiple parties. We encourage all interested and qualified individuals to apply.
Essential Functions
- Uses a computer and its programs to generate various documents, including reports, records, and spreadsheets.
- Serves as an administrative secretary.
- Assists with the fiscal audit process.
- Performs clerical duties for the Business Office.
- Reviews monthly medical contract hours submitted by the Health Care Unit for accuracy.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to two years of secretarial/business college, or completion of high school and two (2) years of related office experience, or two (2) years of independent business experience.
- Requires knowledge of computer logic, programs and language.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefers at least two (2) years of experience serving as a secretary.
- Prefers at least two (2) years of experience completing special projects and studies that involves monitoring, coordinating, and gathering data to formulate reports.
