Onsite Sr. Coordinator, Inventory Services

The Opportunity:

In this role, you will report to the Onsite Supervisor and will work closely with the Avantor’s Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Location: Novato, CA

Shift: 1st shift (7a - 4p) Flexible start time

Hourly Rate: $29/hr.

Must have reliable transportation and valid driver's license.

What we’re looking for 

• Education: High school diploma or GED required (AA or higher degree preferred)

• Experience: 2+ years’ experience in material handling/inventory replenishment or customer service

• Knowledge of scientific material and amenities is favorable.

• Travel required (5% Petaluma, CA 95% Novato, CA) Reimbursement for mileage, parking and tolls.

• Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Teams experience preferred

Avantor’s Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support.

In this role you will:

• Uphold tasks in inventory management (Consumables, chemicals, samples, etc.) and accurate inventory control, processing requests leading to inventory movement on and off-site, and fulfilling customer metric reporting, and other tasks that are related.

• Provide daily customer service functions and communicates with the customer relative to inventory management.

• Perform purchasing tasks that may include back-order reporting and expediting, direct factory shipments, 3rd party support, handling quotes, document control, records maintenance, and resolving open invoices or pricing issues.

• Be responsible for all customer service-related functions including but not limited to order entry, reporting, maintaining metrics, and cost savings tracking.

• Performs shipping coordination activities such as shipping customer material, handling routine issues and hazardous material, operating basic warehouse equipment, and entering shipping information into the customer computer system.

• Exchange inventory updates with customer point of contact, purchasing directors, facility directors, and plant managers. Collaborating with Avantor C4C  and manufacturing representatives.

• Lead non-consigned, customer-owned, or 3rd party inventory.

• Access customer specific systems: SAP, Citrix, Intranet, Avantor Inventory Management Systems, in fulfillment of job duties.

• Build programs for enhanced service efficiencies.

• Deliver inbound packages to customer contacts.

• Update and maintain Standard Operating Procedures.

• Other duties as assigned, such as but not limited to Vendor Escorting.
