Job Ad: Quality Control Laboratory Technician

Location: Troy, VA

We are seeking a detail-oriented **Quality Control Laboratory Technician** to join our Sports Coatings department. In this role, you will help ensure that all products meet required specifications and support overall product quality and consistency.

Key Responsibilities

- Test production batches to ensure specifications are met.

- Adjust batches to bring results within specifications.

- Maintain accurate records, conduct data analysis, and identify trends.

- Clean, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment according to manufacturer guidelines.

- Perform periodic testing of material retains and track results.

- Assist with color matching using color theory and spectrophotometry.

- Follow chemist instructions and support formulation adjustments.

- Strictly adhere to safety policies and established procedures.

- Maintain incoming raw material retains.

Requirements

- Knowledge of MS Office; proficiency in Excel.

- Ability to read and interpret lab equipment data.

- Strong communication skills for interacting with colleagues, managers, customers, and vendors.

- Strong problem-solving abilities in time-sensitive situations.

- Ability to collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.

- High school diploma required; high school chemistry preferred.

Working Conditions

- Work performed in both office and production areas.

- Occasional outdoor work with possible exposure to weather.

Physical Requirements

- Standing: 70% | Walking: 15% | Sitting: 5% | Kneeling: 10%

- Extensive hearing, reading, and seeing; moderate talking.

- Moderate reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and stooping.

- Lifting: Up to 10 lbs. (extensive), 11–50 lbs. (moderate), over 51 lbs. (extensive).
