Essential Job Duties: (Included but not limited to)
- Must possess the ability to plan the layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
- Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
- Use a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment, such as oscilloscopes, ammeters, or test lamps.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Place conduit and pipes, in walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
- Selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things.
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in accordance with local, state, and national electrical codes.
- Perform electrical inspections and troubleshoot electrical issues.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
- Install and connect wiring, outlets, switches, and fixtures.
- Test electrical systems for functionality and safety
- Collaborate with other tradespeople to complete projects on time and within budget.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean work area.
- Pre-job and Pre-task Planning
- Identify behavior and conditions, which jeopardize the safety of others
- Question the need for additional safety precautions, if believed to be necessary for the safe completion of the job.
- Inspect all tools and equipment before each use to ensure good working conditions.
- Comply with site safety rules by following procedures and by wearing the prescribed PPE.
- Never take directions or changes to assigned work from Client personnel without first checking with the Supervisor.
- Attend daily toolbox safety meetings and scheduled training sessions.
- Inspect their work site continuously to ensure that unsafe conditions do not exist.
- Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent apprenticeship.
- Must adhere to safety protocol, and work in a drug-free environment.
- Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the trade you are applying for and have a knowledgeable understanding of the craft work being performed.
- Must have knowledge of safety rules and regulations and learn client and company policy.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and make decisions using FMM's core values of Quality, Teamwork, Pride, Passion, and Integrity
- Proficient in computer, text, and email skills
- Proficient in using power tools and electrical testing equipment.
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Experience working with high voltage and low voltage systems.
- Strong understanding of electrical principles and concepts
- Ability to build and install electrical systems in commercial and residential settings.
- Familiarity with reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
- Basic knowledge of frame carpentry for installation purposes
- Ability to pass a Fit for Duty Screening
