This position is located in our small, but growing, manufacturing and overhaul/repair facility located in Greenville. 1st shift position. Current 1st shift hours are 7:00am - 3:30pm Monday-Friday.

Start Rate for this position is $18,50

Summary

Responsible for the fitting and assembling of basic to complex mechanical and electromechanical equipment and assemblies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assemble, test and inspect mechanical and electrical components according to engineering drawings and work instructions
  • Work with electrical and mechanical equipment 
  • Maintain assembly and test equipment as required  
  • Move material to and from workstation by hand, cart and crane as required 
  • Use machinery safely and efficiently, hand tools, torque wrenches, grinders, etc…
  • Inspect and test completed units.
  • Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and drawings.
  • Interpret routing instructions.
  • Tag or mark identifying information on parts.
  • Grease or lubricate parts as required.
  • Adjust and grind down parts if necessary.
  • Inspect parts for flaws and imperfections.
  • Position and fasten units to assemblies and subassemblies.
  • Fasten cables and wiring.
  • Use calipers and micrometers to measure parts and determine tolerances.
  • Bond components using adhesives.
  • Measure dimensions/clearance of parts.
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Follow all housekeeping and safety rules
  • Other duties as required

Education/Work Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year mechanical assembly experience or equivalent training certification (i.e. mechatronics certification)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Mechanical component assembly experience
  • High level knowledge and experience with hand and power tools.
  • Basic math and measuring skills
  • Experience with calipers, micrometers and other measuring equipment
  • Must be able to read fabrication & assembly blueprints
  • Ability to read & interpret technical manuals & work procedures
  • Ability for critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work with electrical systems a plus
  • Some repetitive lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Must be willing to work in team environment and take ownership of assembly operations
  • Must be flexible to work in final and sub-assemblies as required
  • Able to work with little supervision, is self-motivated and a self-starter.
