Job Purpose:
We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Senior Scientist to join our Infectious Disease team with expertise in Immunology in Siena, Italy. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research on mechanisms of action of new therapeutic interventions against infectious diseases and designing, executing, and analysing experiments to support drug discovery projects.
The successful candidate will have a deep research acumen and the ability to work across boundaries and collaborate both scientifically and technically in a global environment. Responsibilities:
Design and conduct Immunology experiments to investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying infectious diseases and the investigation of therapeutic options for bacterial infections. Utilize a variety of Immunology basic as well as highly advanced techniques.
Independently execute laboratory experiments, conduct statistically supported data analysis, and deliver results in a timely manner to enable informed decision making.
Keep up to date with the latest scientific literature and technologies in infectious diseases and the impacts of immune modulation and host-target interactions.
Contribute to the identification of novel mechanisms of action of anti-infective therapies.
Why You?
Basic Qualifications:
MS/BS with 2-4 years or 4-6 years of experience respectively in research setting with a degree in Immunology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology or related field.
Expertise in a range of immunological techniques covering FACS, B-cell sorting and mAb identification, single cell sequencing, functional assays (e.g., opsonophagocytosis), confocal microscopy, cell culture, transfection, immunoprecipitation, mesoscale.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Self-motivated and able to resolve technical challenges and deliver consistent results efficiently in a timely manner.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in drug discovery or related field is preferred but not required.
