Description Overview

Scope of the Role

Reporting to the Supervisor this position is responsible for supporting the Perrigo Work System to drive continuous improvement and making sure communication is shared amongst all shifts within the department.  The Shift Leader may also be responsible for scheduling overtime and daily scheduling of the crew within their areas of training.  Moreover, this position will be responsible for SOP and cGMP compliance, training, and providing direction to employees to resolve production problems.  Additionally, the Shift Leader will be required to lead and/or participate in resolution of quality and safety incidents. The Shift Lead will be required to work with various support functions (i.e. Quality, Validation, Maintenance, etc.). The position will be required to be active in one or more initiatives related to: quality, safety, productivity, cost, OEE, and on time delivery.  They will work independently with minimal supervision and be responsible for filling in for the shift supervisor when needed. Shift lead will be expected to foster an environment where continuous improvement can thrive.

This job requires the person to work with potential allergens including: Omeprazole, Esomeprazole, Lansoprazole Pantoprazole, Rabeprazole, Famotidine, Loratadine, Guaifenesin, Ibuprofen, Naproxen, Nicotine, Natural Flavorings

 

Experience Required

•    A strong ability to problem solve, multitask and motivate with minimal supervision. Other skills include multi-tasking, record keeping, using tools, and encouraging change, trainer certification may be required in some areas.
•    Strong mechanical aptitude, ability to perform frequent bending and lifting of up to 50 lbs as necessary. Must be able to complete all physical aspects of the job. 
•    Shows exceptional job motivation & internal drive, able to work independently 
•    Ability & the willingness to learn new things while encouraging and promoting change 
•    Excellent attendance record.  
•    Understands, values, and promotes safety. Able to drive culture and address poor safety behaviors.
•    Candidate must have ability to maintain confidentiality.  
•    Understand the importance of quality/attention to detail in work.  
•    Candidate must encourage teamwork, shift to shift communication and the ability to get along well with others. 
•    Able to give and receive appropriate feedback in a positive manner.  
•    Upholds a strong sense of ethics - responsibility, integrity, respect & curiousity
•    Adheres to and promotes professionalism within department and plant.
Requirements
•    High School Diploma/GED; pursuing degree is preferred. 
•    The incumbent must have knowledge of cGMP environment, excellent attendance, and work record, including ability to keep confidential items confidential.
