About the role

 POSITION SUMMARY:

To learn many aspects of the Support office through: 1) hands on management and creation of policies and practices, 2) preparing reports, analysis and presentations, and 3) providing administrative and project support to the Supervisor. This position is an entry level professional track position and will offer training and continuing education to support a career in management and leadership within BAYADA Home Health Care.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Exemplifies characteristics of The BAYADA Way: compassion, excellence and reliability.
  • Four (4) year college degree.
  • Demonstrated record of strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated record of goal achievement.
  • Prior health care and home care experience is a plus.
  • Competence in basic PC skills required to perform job functions.
  • Ability to read, write and effectively communicate in English.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrate and communicate the core values of BAYADA and The BAYADA Way.
  • Develop working knowledge of BAYADA’s mission, services, people, organization, policies and procedures.
  • Create and manage policies, practices and procedures related to BAYADA support offices.
  • Coordinate logistics of events.
  • Initiate and independently research complex information through compilation of statistics, analyzing data and summarizing for review.
  • Provide backup support for routine support questions.
  • Participate in special projects: prepare reports and presentations using Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint etc.).
  • Develop and/or coordinate articles for the BAYADA Weekly Bulletin, as needed.
  • Draft and distribute professional correspondence and announcements.
  • Support annual audits and compliance reviews, as needed.
  • Learn various aspects of organization through technology training, hands-on learning, cross-training and site visits.
  • Support the team (office and company) and provide back-up as needed.
  • Maintain office(s) organization charts and associated email and call lists.

BILLING RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Consistently meeting performance metrics.
  • Apply experience and skills to complete assigned work within own area of expertise.
  • Work within standard operating procedures and/or methods.
  • Answer telephones, greet visitors and generate correspondence as necessary for office needs.
  • Print insurance data form and updates client screen for new accounts where appropriate. Update existing accounts when information changes.
  • Check bill for accuracy. This includes verifying bill type, ID #, proper HCPCS/CPT 4 and revenue codes.
  • Check contract or negotiated rates and discounts. Makes sure that all necessary bill fields are completed legibly.
  • Correct bills as needed. Does retypes and payroll corrections when requested. Faxe corrections to service office.
  • Coordinate and follow up with other teams for billing of other insurances as needed; does transfer where appropriate.
  • Check for completeness of attachments. Enter any incomplete bills on the late list.
  • Coordinate with collector in rebilling claims as needed.
  • Quickly informs service of any unusual circumstances that effect reimbursement such as policy termination, etc.
  • Adhere to Collection office policy and procedure guidelines, including completing all weekly bills or places bills on the late list by 3:00 on Wednesday.
  • Bring required bill to changes to the supervisor’s attention.
  • Advise supervisor of computer generated inaccuracies or required program changes.
  • Respond to service office requests for information and corrections in a timely manner.
  • Maintain billing files in a neat and organized manner.
  • Document client file notes clearly and concisely as needed.
  • Present a professional appearance.
  • Manage caseload as needed in the department.
  • Assist team members in billing actions on an as needed basis.
  • Maintain acceptable standards of attendance, punctuality, dependability and productivity.
  • Work with a moderate degree of supervision.

Base pay: $21-22/hr plus potential for quarterly bonuses
