TITLE:                  Front Desk Supervisor

LOCATION:        Cliff Lodge

STATUS:             Full-time, Regular

SCHEDULE:        7am-3pm, 11am-7pm, 3pm-11pm

  • Specific Shift: 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. and possibility of mid shifts 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
  • You must be available to work both shifts based on business needs, any day of the week including weekends and holidays.
  • Shifts may vary from early morning to late evening depending on business levels.
  • Must be 21+

SUMMARY

As a full-time, year-round Cliff Lodge Front Desk Supervisor at Snowbird, you'll supervise front desk staff to ensure guest satisfaction. You will assist the Manager with special projects, and coordinate with other departments to provide special requests.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Oversee overall operation of the Front Desk. Plans, directs, organizes, and coordinates work-time behaviors of others.
  • Acts as manager on duty in the absence of other department heads or managers. Performs front desk tasks as needed.
  • Communicate with management and other departments.
  • Communicate well with Front Desk staff and keep them informed and updated on rules and procedures.
  • Resolve any guest or owner situations. Answers inquiries and solves disputes pertaining to credit billings and payments.
  • Review the staff folios to ensure correct charges.
  • Review room blocking to ensure accuracy. Continually monitors tape chart and makes changes as necessary to ensure maximum occupancy. Review room blocking to ensure accuracy.
  • Responsible for maintaining an accurate inventory of supplies.
  • Provides outstanding guest and owner service. Maintains a high standard of work quality.
  • Check in guests in an efficient and courteous manner.
  • Check guests out and ascertains guest satisfaction and presents bill to the guest. 
  • Ensure the shift is logged into the after hours reservation line and books reservations for lodging at the resort.
  • Coordinate and solve accounting and billing needs with other departments.
  • Resolve Guest concerns in a timely manner.
  • Answer telephones, receive guest requests and coordinate with the correct department to ensure that guests’ needs are taken care of.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, multitask and maintain attention to detail while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Utilize a variety of computer systems such as smsHost, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel.
  • Monitor supply inventories and orders supplies when necessary.
  • Continuously train front desk staff.

WHAT YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB DONE

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Must be 21+ years of age.
  • Must demonstrate competency in reading, writing, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Requires six months of training in the hospitality industry.
  • Must have one year of hotel/hospitality work experience or six months of front desk experience with demonstrated competence.
  • Must have one year of supervisory experience.
  • Experience working with Word, Outlook, and SMS Host preferred.

  • Specific Shift: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. and possibility of mid shifts 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work is routine in pleasant, comfortable surroundings. Hotel Lodge conditions.
  • Must be prepared to stay overnight, if necessary, on occasional times of road closures.
  • May experience unusual stress from continual work with the public, winter conditions, snow night requirements, and commuting to/from Snowbird.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Work is subject to frequent interruptions, making continuity and accuracy difficult.
  • Must be able to walk on slippery/icy/snowy surfaces and stairs on occasion to access work site.
