About the role

Job Description

The Materials handler is responsible for the safe and proficient flow of materials from the staging area to the production floor as well as the return of materials to the warehouse.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain the 28-hour inventory area daily
  • Maintain good house keeping on the production floor.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in the Warehouse staging area and return area.
  • Ability to operator manual pallet jack, sit-down forklift and become certified on the motorized pallet jack and forklift.
  • Maintain accurate and legible paperwork
  • Properly label and return materials to the warehouse return area
  • Weigh and package materials
  • Count IML labels to be returned
  • Make trays for production
  • Take finished product to the wrapper line if the palletizer is not working
  • Keep all machines stocked with the correct handles, grips, wire, gaskets, IML labels, gaskets.
  • Assist the mold techs with all aspects of the resin and color changes
  • Assist the mold techs with color delivery to the machines
  • Ability to solve complex mathematical equations to maintain proper inventory levels.
  • Communicate effectively to team members and members of management
  • Staff are informed and held accountable for their food safety and regulatory responsibilities
  • Staff are positively encouraged and required to notify management of actual or potential food safety issues; and
  • Staff are empowered to act to resolve food safety issues within their scope of work.

EDUCATIONAL, SKILL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED, or at least 1 years’ work experience in a relevant role preferred
  • Must have an outstanding attendance record as this is a pivotal role
  • Must be detail-oriented, have good communication skills, be safety minded and dependable
  • Must be able to frequently lift, bend, and reach to perform necessary job functions during a 12-hour shift
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to operate a forklift and pallet jack safely
  • Basic writing, reading and math skills
