Global Controller

Location: San Diego, CA (Cybereason Headquarters)

Reports To: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Salary Range: $225,000 – $275,000 plus benefits and Options

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Global Controller to lead Cybereason’s financial reporting, compliance, and accounting functions on a global scale. This role will be pivotal in establishing and overseeing accounting processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and partnering cross-functionally to drive financial strategies. The Global Controller will play a crucial role in scaling our finance operations and reporting as we continue our global growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting & Compliance:

  • Oversee global financial close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

  • Develop and maintain financial policies and internal controls, in compliance with GAAP and/or IFRS.

  • Prepare consolidated financial statements and manage all aspects of financial audits.

• Global Accounting Operations:

  • Lead global accounting teams to streamline and standardize accounting processes.

  • Establish best practices for cost controls, revenue recognition, and cash flow management.

  • Drive continuous improvement in accounting operations, leveraging automation where possible.

• Strategic Financial Leadership:

  • Provide guidance on the financial implications of business strategies and operations.

  • Support executive leadership in budget planning, forecasting, and performance monitoring.

  • Develop financial strategies that enhance efficiency and scalability as Cybereason expands.

• Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with tax, regulatory, and legal requirements in all jurisdictions where Cybereason operates.

  • Lead efforts in managing operational and financial risk, including overseeing insurance and audit processes.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and industry organizations.

• Team Development and Leadership:

  • Mentor and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a collaborative and growth-focused culture.

  • Support training and development initiatives to strengthen team expertise in accounting and finance.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent qualification is strongly preferred.

• 10+ years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in a global controller or senior financial leadership role.

• Deep knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and global regulatory compliance.

• Proven experience in a SaaS or technology environment is highly desirable.

• Strong proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced knowledge of Excel.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• MBA or advanced degree in Finance.

• Experience in implementing or optimizing financial systems in a growing company.

• Track record of working effectively with C-level executives and cross-functional teams.
