Veterinarian and Medical Director

Location: Vancouver, BC

Cats Only Animal Hospital​ is currently welcoming a full-time Veterinarian and Medical Director to lead our team of highly engaged veterinary professionals. Your role will comprise medical leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure the highest quality of veterinary care is practiced. Your leadership will be instrumental in shaping a highly productive and efficient team ensuring safe and effective hospital protocols are employed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide veterinary expertise to offer the best care for our patients

• Oversee medical cases for veterinary doctors ensuring positive outcomes and accurate estimates

• Review and enhance protocols when required according to regulatory requirements

• In partnership with hospital manager and leadership, review financial performance and general operations for areas that require improvement, and also to celebrate goals achieved monthly, quarterly and annually

• Participate in recruiting qualified veterinarians; externships, referrals, attending career fairs and hiring summer DVM students

• Has experience leading a team of veterinary professionals

• Is dedicated to promoting team-based medicine practices

• Has exceptional interpersonal skills

• Is committed to coaching and mentoring team members, rotating internship students

Compensation: The annual salary range for this position is $95,000 to $150,000. This position may also be eligible for other variable pay programs. The annual salary range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.
