Position Summary:

The Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QA/QC) Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing a first-in-class quality program across Hemp Preroll, Vape, and Gummy Edible manufacturing operations. This role ensures all raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods meet regulatory requirements, internal specifications, and customer quality standards.

The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in hemp flower and strain evaluation, a strong understanding of extract-based vape products and edible formulations, and the technical capability to design, equip, and operate an internal QA/QC laboratory supporting a diversified hemp product portfolio.

Reporting to: VP of Ops

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Systems, Compliance & Regulatory Oversight

1. Design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) across prerolls, vapes, and gummy edibles.
2. Develop and control SOPs, work instructions, batch records, and specifications for:
   1. Hemp flower intake and storage
   2. Preroll manufacturing
   3. Vape formulation, filling, and packaging
   4. Gummy edible production and packaging.
3. Ensure compliance with:
   1. Federal and state hemp regulations
   2. GMP and food-grade manufacturing requirements (for edibles)
   3. OSHA and workplace safety standards
4. Lead internal audits, manage CAPAs, and support customer, regulatory, and third-party audits.

Hemp Flower & Strain Quality Expertise (Prerolls)

1. Act as the subject-matter expert for hemp flower quality and strain performance.
2. Establish strain-specific quality standards covering:
   1. Visual characteristics (trim, trichomes, color)
   2. Aroma, terpene integrity, and freshness
   3. Moisture content and water activity
   4. Grind consistency and preroll burn performance
3. Oversee flower handling best practices, including:
   1. Environmental storage controls
   2. FIFO/lot traceability
   3. Degradation and contamination prevention
4. Train production teams on flower care, inspection methods, and defect identification.
    

Vape Product Quality Control

1. Oversee QA/QC processes for vape cartridges, disposables, and related hardware, including:
   1. Distillate and extract quality verification
   2. Terpene blending accuracy and homogeneity
   3. Hardware compatibility and leakage prevention
2. Implement inspection and testing protocols for:
   1. Fill weights and volume accuracy
   2. Viscosity and flow consistency
   3. Hardware integrity and functionality
3. Coordinate third-party lab testing for potency, contaminants, and stability.
4. Ensure vape products meet safety, performance, and labeling requirements.
    

Gummy Edible Quality Control

1. Establish and enforce food-grade quality standards for gummy edible manufacturing.
2. Oversee QA/QC controls for:
   1. Ingredient verification and allergen management
