Job Description

The Staff Software Engineer is a hands-on technology leader who helps us through our product to platform journey. To be successful in this role, this individual is someone who can provide technical leadership to cross functional teams across Web Applications, Domain Micro Services, Databases, and Devops.

This is a Senior Level Role requiring 10+ years experience. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION

• Leading Teams – this individual is a collaborator, working closely with product management, technical leadership, and other senior leaders in an agile environment to help develop and deliver multiyear technology roadmap for our go-forward platform. This individual will help perform technology discovery, create software designs and tools and work with agile teams to develop best in class software, while developing software independently and collaboratively.  
• Engineering Expertise – this individual has a proven track record in building and leading software in lean/agile environment delivering complex software systems. This individual is an enabler of creating best in class software, who believe in Devops culture.  This individual enjoys actively developing code while working with our cross-functional full-stack teams within an Agile development environment and care deeply about code quality, quality automation, and take responsibility for maintaining high software engineering standards.
• Technical Acumen – this individual can go deep on Cloud Native, MicroServices, Progressive Webapps with ability to create full stack software with experience building both systems and processes that will scale. This individual also understands and has expertise in technologies like Java/.Net, AWS/Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, ProgressDb, MongoDb, Terraform, etc.
• Coach and Mentor – this individual is a great coach, motivator, and mentor to the teams, while helping teams to excel bring positive can-do attitude.
• Transformation – this individual has experience modernizing applications and migrating them into go-forward technology services and platforms and understands process of migrating customers, data from legacy systems to newer microservices while owning these microservice development end-end from conception to deployment.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate should be an experienced, hands-on engineer, with a consistent track record of developing technology products and platforms that scales both technologically and operationally.
• A Team player with 10+ years of software development and design experience delivering complex software products to customers
• Experience working in Cloud, SaaS environments
• Deep knowledge of Object Oriented programming languages(Java, C#, C++), good understanding of software architecture and design patterns
• Experience with one or more modern frontend frameworks (React, Vue, Angular)
• Experience with frameworks such as Spring Boot, .NET
• Understanding of Database technologies such as MySQL, MongoDb
• Experience with Development tools such as GitHub and Jira
• Strong understanding of Quality engineering, automation. Experience with Test Driven Development and automated test tools such as Selenium, Cucumber etc
• Flexible and able to multitask; can work within a dynamic and fast-paced environment while also providing clarity and solutions
• Previous experience working in agile teams including offshore teams.
• Hands-on experience in new product development, ideally during the growth phase of a successful tech-based company
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field preferred
