Oregon is in the midst of a housing crisis. This position will play a key role in making a tangible difference in the lives of Oregonians. Join the Oregon Department of Land Conservation and Development (DLCD) as the agency’s first Housing Accountability Manager within the Directors office. The incumbent in this newly created position will manage and direct the new Housing Accountability and Production Office (HAPO) as described in SB 1537 (introduced in February 2024). The Housing Accountability Manager will oversee the work of a total of six staff including three Housing Accountability Planners, two Housing Navigators, and an Administrative Support Specialist. The manager will direct and coordinate the team to meet review and decision timelines and to clearly communicate decision results and findings with vested parties including residential developers, and local governments. Under the direction of the incumbent, the HAPO Accountability Team will administer a technical assistance grant fund to support and assist local governments in remedying development or zoning codes, land use ordinances, review processes, or other patterns and practices that are found to be out of compliance with state housing laws.
