A Medical Information Management Student Intern serves in a variety of functional areas within the department in addition to assisting with special projects as assigned by the respective manager.

• Analyzes and reviews medical records for inpatients, outpatients and procedure areas after patient discharge to evaluate compliance with CMS documentation requirements
• Assists with data collection and summaries for reporting purposes
• Researches medical record topics related to forms management and documentation requirements
• Reconciles spreadsheets for forms management
• Conducts analysis of quality data for reporting
• Creates presentations, reports, other documents to meetings
• Creates and facilitates surveys for department
• Assists with meeting management and meeting preparation tasks
• Assists operations director and managers with clerical tasks
• Assists Document Imaging or Data Integrity teams as needed
