This is a 3rd shift position.

What You Will Do:

  • Plan and perform the work necessary to properly process waste material consistent with applicable government regulations policies and accepted practices.
  • Follow established procedures to operate and maintain treatment facility.
  • Work from generally defined procedures in processing a wide variety of waste. 
  • Monitor and make adjustments and stay within recognized limits and government standards when processing waste considered hazardous to the environment. 
  • Perform test and exercise judgement to determine if substance meets prescribed criteria before being released of forwarded for additional treatment.
  • Operate a variety of motorized equipment necessary to transport chemicals and waste between locations for delivery or storage purposes. 
  • Properly fill out all necessary forms and paperwork and identify strength and type of material involved.
  • Perform preventive maintenance pipefitting and routine repair work as part of facility operations within working in conjunction with other trades, utilize common skill crossover where opportunity for shared responsibilities allows.
  • May be assigned to carry out task, not specifically listed within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individuals skills.
  • May be required to train for, obtain and maintain licenses operator permits and certifications with assigned trade specialization.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1 year experience in waste management, wastewater treatment and/or environmental services.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
