Summary

The BMS Social Media Ambassador is a Graduate Assistant (GA) responsible for promoting the Biomedical Sciences (BMS) programs, events, and achievements through engaging social media content. This role involves developing, managing, and maintaining a positive online presence across various social platforms to increase visibility, community engagement, and outreach for the BMS department.

Essential Functions

• Create, curate, and schedule social media posts on platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

• Collaborate with faculty, students, and staff to gather content and highlight departmental achievements, events, and opportunities.

• Develop creative content including graphics, videos, and written posts to engage target audiences.

• Monitor social media channels, respond to comments and inquiries, and foster an interactive online community.

• Assist the Associate PD with tracking and analyzing social media metrics to assess the effectiveness of campaigns and make data-driven improvements.

• Stay updated on trending social media best practices, tools, and platform changes.

• Assist with planning and promoting BMS events through social media channels.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Currently enrolled as a graduate student in the Biomedical Sciences (BMS) graduate degree program.

• Currently attending the BMS program as an “in-person” student.

• Strong communication and writing skills.

• Demonstrable experience or familiarity with social media platforms, content creation, and digital marketing.

• Creativity, enthusiasm, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
