Warehouse Manager

JELD-WEN is currently seeking an Warehouse Manager to join our growing team. 

 

THE ROLE

 

The Warehouse Manager leads all activity at the production distribution center. The Warehouse Manager is responsible for fostering a safe and productive work environment, developing & enforcing standard operating procedures, meeting key performance indicators (KPIs), and promoting continuous improvement of the operation.

 

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

• Leads all facility operations including office and warehouse operations functions
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws
• Responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, training, assigning and directing work, performance appraisals, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems
• Builds, motivates, and retains a team that consistently meets deadlines
• Builds a positive team culture that promotes teamwork and cross-functional success
• Attracts and develops talent within the organization
• Fields all warehouse escalations to ensure expeditious resolution to any issues
• Serves as backup for the Warehouse Supervisor for direct leadership of material handlers and warehouse personnel
• Serves as backup for the Office Manager and is competent in all critical warehouse office functions including truck route planning & tendering, invoicing, and receiving
• Creates and measures key performance indicators and proactively assigns corrective actions, where necessary
• Confers and advises departments and project personnel on inventory or inventory management related issues
• Maintains the facility labor model and proactively addresses labor capacity issues
• Prepares statistical and information reports on material condition and warehouse activities
• Advanced safety and risk awareness, proactively addresses potential risks before issues arise
• Develops Standard Operating Procedures to drive alignment with process improvements or business changes
• Maintain team member work routines and work schedules to achieve performance expectations
• Lead a facility wide-continuous improvement program that engages with warehouse personnel to drive more efficient and safe operations

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other JELD-WEN associated computer software and hardware applications such as PowerBI and TITAN ERP

• Foundational knowledge in Plan for Every Part (PFEP) concepts and processes
• Must have the ability to maintain the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality.

 

Education and Experience

 

• Bachelors Degree Preferred
• 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment, preferably in the building products industry; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in the door and window industry as determined by management.
• Demonstrated ability to lead manufacturing and/or warehouse operations
• Some basic knowledge and experience in production and manufacturing processes and techniques, preferably at JELD-WEN or the door and window industry, including Inside Sales, Production Control, Order Entry, Scheduling, and Materials Management in general.
