Marketing ensures that Morgan Stanley gains the greatest value from its brand and helps drive growth for the Firm’s various businesses. Marketing manages every aspect of the brand worldwide and provides strategic guidance and marketing execution for business units and internal groups.

The Morgan Stanley Wealth Management (WM) Marketing department focuses on creating strategies and solutions that help foster client and segment engagement, supporting advisors to win and retain business.  Within WM Marketing sits Field Marketing Solutions, a group broadly responsible for providing Home Office-supported marketing tools and resources that help Morgan Stanley Financial Advisors across the country grow their practices.  

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Vice President to develop marketing initiatives aligned with business growth opportunities identified by the Firm.

Position Summary:

The Vice President – WM Marketing will play a pivotal role in developing marketing solutions to support growth initiatives, including but not limited to providing additional Firm resources to existing clients and self-directed brokerage asset accumulation. This person will use qualitative and quantitative data to ideate further marketing programming for different Financial Advisor segments across the country. The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker with a strong background in communications or marketing, excellent interpersonal skills, and a passion for developing and executing on strategies aligned with the Firm’s key areas of focus.

Principal Areas of Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement marketing materials that enable Financial Advisors to effectively communicate the full range of Firm solutions to clients.

  • Drive initiatives to increase self-directed brokerage assets, leveraging innovative marketing strategies and tools.

  • Analyze and extract insights from recent pilot marketing initiatives to create durability and develop ongoing programming that supports Financial Advisors’ practice expansion.

  • Deliver tailored marketing solutions to targeted markets across the country, ensuring alignment with regional leadership, needs, and opportunities.

  • Utilize internal data to establish success metrics for growth initiatives.

  • Work closely with Marketing colleagues to communicate programming and training on usage to Field professionals.

  • Provide regular, comprehensive reporting on the performance and impact of marketing efforts to various levels of Wealth Management leadership.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • A minimum of 8-10 years of marketing and/or communications experience with a background in the financial services industry.

  • Proven track record of successfully bringing marketing initiatives to bear and developing relevant metrics.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to present confidently to various levels of Firm leadership.

  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and organizational skills.

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to drive decision-making.

  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects, prioritize and resolve complex problems and escalate as necessary, in a deadline-oriented environment.

  • Ability to pitch in and work hard in a lean environment.

  • Knowledge of legal and compliance policies related to financial services industry a plus.
