Sentara Health is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as a Director, Patient Experience-Hospital

Position Status: Full-time, Day Shift

Position Location: Onsite at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA

Standard Working Hours: 8:00AM to 5:00PM (ET).

Position Summary:

The Director is a health care professional, with the authorized freedom to cross departmental lines to serve as a liaison between the patient and the Hospital to facilitate resolution to reported problems, expedite service, recommend constructive changes to improve the quality of care and prevent potential claims against the Hospital. Responsible for the delivery of high quality services that meet or exceed customer expectations. Coordinates the development and marketing of new services within these areas. Contributes to the success of the hospital through achievement of system, hospital and center goals and objectives. Provides staff management in a multi-skilled, multifunctional environment. This position regularly monitors and reports patient satisfaction data. This position has access to, or oversight of, Protected Health Information (PHI) in the course of carrying out duties, and will strictly adhere to regulations addressed in the HIPAA Privacy Rule.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Level Degree Required
• Master's degree, MHA/MBA preferred
• Experience must be from customer relations/marketing/customer service in a healthcare, hospitality or retail environment.
• Experience leading patient/member experience initiatives is preferred.
