The Modern Apps team at Insight is seeking a passionate Senior Java Developer to join our team in Dallas, Texas for a hybrid work environment.

 

We provide services to our clients who are businesses of all sizes from startups to fortune 100 companies. What is consistent across our clients is that they are interested in transforming their business through modern Software as a Service offerings and have engaged Insight’s Consulting Services team to deliver on that vision.

 

What our Senior Java Developers Do: 

• Responsible for the accuracy and quality of the deliverables generated at each step in the software development lifecycle.
• Build cutting-edge applications for companies ranging in scale from startup to Fortune 100 in a variety of industries including health life sciences, finance, manufacturing and more.
• Work directly with clients to understand the deep technical problems that slow them down.
• Map business needs to technical solutions that will make clients more relevant and competitive including soliciting and refining requirements with business stakeholders and technical subject-matter-experts.
• Collaborate with a team as the Services and Backend expert to design effective APIs, supporting data structures, and solution architecture using the latest technologies.
• Deliver technical recommendations / presentations to groups of peers and/or clients.
• Mentor and coach more junior team members in all aspects of the SDLC.

 

What we look for:   

• Over 5 years’ experience developing Web Applications with Spring Boot using Java.
• Command of all stages of the SDLC.
• Experience working in cloud-native application development environments.
• Firm understanding of cloud patterns and standards. 
• Firm understanding of building microservices with design patterns. 
• Knowledge of test-driven development.
• Experience implementing enterprise messaging systems (Kafka, Service Bus, EventHub, etc.).
• Able to define technical requirements. 

• Strong written and oral communication skills. 
• Knowledge of DevOps principles and practices. 
• Able to create or edit CI/CD pipelines to build and release Java applications.
• Experience with data persistence technologies, such as PostgreSQL, key value storage, REDIS, and Key Vault. 
• Experience with Docker containers and containerizing existing Java applications. 

 

Nice to Have:  

• Experience with GitHub for source control and CI/CD pipelines.  
• Experience developing and operating applications hosted in Kubernetes environments.  
• Working knowledge of the Microsoft Azure services such as: 
• Azure Kubernetes Services 
• Azure SQL and/or Azure PostgreSQL 
• Azure Storage  
• Service Bus  
• Event Hub 

 

The base salary range for this position is typically $140,000-$160,000 with additional bonus and benefits available. However, compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case, including experience and location, and we will also consider candidates outside of this range as necessary.
