Position Overview

The Project Manager will provide administrative and project management support to the Principal Investigator (PI) while overseeing multiple research grants and initiatives. In addition to managing study operations, the Project Manager will support both traditional and non-traditional modes of dissemination, including manuscript development, conference presentations, and the creation and management of digital and social media content related to project work.

This role requires strong organizational, communication, and creative skills, with the ability to translate research findings for diverse audiences and help build a cohesive academic and public-facing presence for the work.

Key Responsibilities:

Administrative Support

●     Provide general administrative support to the Principal Investigator, including calendar management, email, scheduling, reimbursements, and travel or booking arrangements

●     Coordinate logistics across multiple projects and stakeholders in the NY/NJ/CT/PA region

Project & Grant Management

●     Manage and oversee grant-funded research projects, including quantitative and qualitative studies

●     Ensure timely and accurate execution of study aims, milestones, and deliverables

●     Submit, manage, and maintain Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications, amendments, and continuing reviews

●     Coordinate annual grant reviews, progress reports, and renewals in compliance with institutional and funder requirements

●     Oversee primary data collection and analysis activities, including interviews, coding, and data management

●     Supervise, onboard, and offboard research staff and students

●     Train staff and students on study protocols, data collection procedures, and compliance requirements

●     Organize and facilitate regular project and team meetings

●     Monitor project timelines, documentation, and reporting obligations

Research, Dissemination & Content Development

●     Support traditional and non-traditional dissemination efforts, including manuscript writing, conference abstracts, presentations, and digital content

●     Participate in conference presentations and public-facing dissemination activities

●     Assist with grant development and proposal preparation

●    Develop and manage project-related content, including reports, websites, and social media platforms

●     Help build and maintain a consistent academic and public-facing presence for project work

●     Travel for research activities

Position Details

Approximate Start Date: March 2026 

Anticipated End Date: January 31, 2029 (appointment renewal/extension is dependant on continued receipt of grant funding) 

Appointment Type: Full-time, fixed-term, grant-funded position 

Work Hours: 35 hours per week; The role follows a Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. schedule with some flexibility.

Location: Hybrid, requires at least three in-person days per week on College-designated common attendance days.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the budgeted salary range for this position is $80,000 to $85,000 commensurate with experience. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.

 

Qualifications

Required Education:

Bachelor’s Degree

Preferred Education:

Master of Public Health (MPH) or other relevant master’s degree with health component

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
