Our Finance team is looking for a New York based Senior Accounting Manager - General Ledger to take ownership of our core accounting operations! This role is central to managing our financial close process, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong controls, and continuous process improvements to support SoundCloud’s growth. Collaboration and clear communication are essential, as you will partner with multiple teams across the organization to drive financial accuracy and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead key parts of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process for general ledger accounts, working with the team on consolidations for Group reporting (IFRS 10) and intercompany transactions, helping ensure accurate balance sheet reconciliations
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of accounting operations
- Lead the US Accounts Payable & Shared Service function, working closely with the EU procure to pay manager to ensure global alignment of processes and controls
- Contribute to year-end audit preparation and monthly Group reporting, offering technical accounting guidance when needed, and collaborating with FP&A, Tax, and other departments
- Contribute to new projects and company initiatives, adapting to evolving business needs and helping develop accounting solutions for emerging opportunities
- Provide guidance on accounting principles and best practices to team members, and participate in projects related to system implementations and process optimization
Experience and Background:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and be an actively licensed CPA or equivalent
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Big 4 public accounting experience strongly preferred with demonstrated knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP
- Proficiency with Oracle Fusion ERP system strongly preferred
- Proven experience in process improvement, internal controls design, and consolidation processes
- Self-starter with proven ability to take initiative and complete tasks with minimal supervision
- Adaptable team player who thrives in a global environment, collaborating effectively across different locations and time zones
- Meticulous attention to detail paired with the agility to navigate multiple priorities in a growth-oriented company
The salary range for this role is $100,000 - $135,000 annually. The final salary offered will be determined based on relative experience, skills, internal equity, and location. We also offer a generous total rewards program - read more about additional benefits and perks below!
