What we are looking for:
Yazaki is looking for a Materials Planner to join our Supply Chain team in El Paso, TX. This person is responsible for procuring raw material from various suppliers, receiving customer orders, creating production plans and filling production orders once manufactured. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative and action-driven environment making lasting impacts on the organization. This position is hybrid.
What you will be doing:
- Responsible to handle and forecast orders from multiple customers.
- Negotiate with the customer regarding deliveries due to production capacity, material lead times, etc. as required.
- Responsible to supply correct and enough information regarding orders to the customer as well as status updates.
- Must be able to manage inventory to reduce production downtime while avoiding excessive inventories.
- Negotiate with suppliers about lead times, price, etc.
- Report the backorders on a weekly basis to your supervisor.
- Report any problem or change on the current production plan to your supervisor.
- Achieve the objectives of the management policy of the Production Control Department (PCD), through the supervision of Kaizen activities.
- Provide and update the production schedule of Molding, Block of Union (JB), Electronic Manufacturing (EMD)
- Manage the overtime in production lines and machines.
- Monitor and follow-up on customer orders.
- Plan, verify, control and manage the inventory of Finish Goods and Childs produced.
- Support and coordinate inventories of components.
- Conduct a daily cycle count.
- Prepare production plans and programs for each part number, line and machine, and make sure they meet the customers' requirements on time.
- Track numbers with back order, as well as plan the recovery of them.
- Follow up the Production Plan and inform its status.
- Generate production plans and provide daily follow-up.
- Control and follow up on production plans.
