Director of Donor and Board Support

The Director of Donor and Board Support helps establish a culture of generosity and stewardship within our organization through resourcing and training our field staff. This role serves as the lead developer and point person for all strategy, training and resources utilized by field staff who are fundraising and developing boards. In addition, this role serves as the writer and coordinator of assets, tools and resources in print and digital forms for Donor and Board Advancement at the organizational level.
MINISTERIAL DUTIES

- Follow a spiritual rhythm including daily prayer and Bible study to seek the Lord's will for FCA.
- Lead, conduct and provide spiritual leadership for staff, volunteers, coaches and athletes through prayer, Bible study, worship and living by example so they are equipped to serve others.
- Connect to and participate in a local church through worship and weekly involvement.
- Conduct yourself in a manner that affirms biblical standards of conduct in accordance with FCA's Christian beliefs (see FCA's Christian Community Statement) at all times.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supports all staff through strategic resources about the organization's donor and board strategy to strengthen staff relationships with donors and board members.
- Leads all print, digital and web resources/training for Donor and Board Advancement.
- Works with DBA and Organizational leadership on training and strategic documents around fundraising campaigns.
- Collaborates with RDDBA's to develop best-in-class organizational and regional resources and training materials. In addition, the VP of DBA Support ensures alignment and synergy with the Field to maximize collaborative outcomes.
- Develops systems and processes to keep current the DBA websites, Teamnet and training resources.
- Develops systems and processes to efficiently utilize the donor database and donor analytics.
- Develops systems and processes to effectively care for donors through an organizational appreciation strategy that marks milestones and generosity along the lifetime of a donor with FCA
EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in communications, nonprofit management, business administration, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in donor relations, fundraising or a similar role.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and persuasively.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Commitment to maintain confidentiality and handling of sensitive donor information with discretion and professionalism.
COMPETENCIES
- Experience working in a nonprofit organization or a philanthropic setting.
- Knowledge of fundraising principles, grant writing, and donor engagement strategies.
- Demonstrated editing and proof reading ability with familiarity with stylebooks, basic design, writing tools, and writing and publications software.
- Proficiency in establishing and following project/publication deadlines with intermediate steps.
- Committed to working collaboratively within a team environment and independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to develop and adhere to an annual project cadence with room for extra projects when needed.
This role does not require on-site work in Kansas City and is eligible for remote work.
