We are now looking for a Director, Strategic Market Intelligence to join our Market Intelligence and Flexibility team.
About the role
As a Director, Strategic Market Intelligence, you will lead a team of experts responsible for delivering long-term strategic insights and operational environment scenarios to support Fortum’s strategic decision-making.
The Strategic Market Intelligence team serves a wide range of stakeholders, including corporate strategy, capital allocation, top management, and customer-facing functions. Your team provides in-depth analysis and insights on the operating environment, helping to shape key business decisions.
In this influential role, you will:

Drive Fortum’s long-term energy market analysis processes and deliverables.

Regularly present key insights and findings to top management.

Be responsible and lead the market design development work.

Stay updated on the latest developments in energy, macroeconomics, and politics.

Lead the long-term electricity demand forecasting based on industrial customer segment insights.

Identify and lead improvements in your team’s portfolio of products and services.

Manage your team’s fixed costs and plan deliverables on both a tactical and strategic level.

Foster close collaboration with Fortum’s business areas while upholding a high standard of quality and trust in your team’s analysis and recommendations.
The team is highly visible and influential within Fortum, which means there is a high standard and trust in the quality of analysis and recommendations.
The location of this role can be in either Espoo, Finland or Solna, Sweden.
About You
You are a strategic and results-driven leader with a proactive and structured approach. You have a strong background in management consulting, energy markets, and/or other influential roles within relevant industries.
To succeed in this role, you will have:

A Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, or Natural/Political Sciences.

Deep expertise (7+ years) in the global and European energy landscape, with an interest in broader societal, political, and economic trends.

A proven ability of translating complex analyses into clear strategic insights.

Strong leadership and coaching skills, allowing you to support and develop your team effectively.

The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, enabling you to influence key stakeholders.

Fluency in English (written and spoken); Finnish or Swedish language skills are considered a plus.
