Predictable Schedule: The Monday through Friday schedule provides a consistent routine, allowing the APP to plan personal and professional activities more easily.

Reduced Burnout: A predictable schedule and regular hours can contribute to lower levels of burnout compared to shift work or irregular schedules.



Job Summary:

The Advanced Practice Provider Hospitalist works in collaboration with, and is an integral member of, our health care team. The APP examines and treats patients independently and in autonomous collaboration with the treating physician. They ensure proper illness and injury care, assist in disease prevention management, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery while seeing in-patient needs in the hospital.  The APP will also be involved in follow up out-patient visits.  The APP will be responsible for supporting the day and evening call schedule when necessitated by physician schedule/hospital needs.  They have an advanced level of medical and nursing knowledge, a strong foundation in evidenced based practice/education and provide an environment of safe, quality care for our patients, based on sound clinical judgement, professional communication skills, and timely and appropriate, compliant documentation.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with a wide range of gastrointestinal disorders


Obtain medical histories, perform physical exams, and document clinical findings


Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including labs, imaging, and endoscopic results


Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with physicians


Prescribe and manage medications and therapeutic interventions


Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and disease prevention


Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, coordinated care


Maintain accurate and timely medical records


Travel between hospitals and outreach locations serviced by AZ Gastro Care

Qualifications
Master’s degree - New graduates welcome! 
National Board Certification required
BLS certification required
Experience with GI or pain treatment preferred
Proficiency in MS Excel, electronic health systems and databases, such as EPIC, required
Knowledge of GCP, federal, state, and local regulations, including HIPAA policies and procedures.


Physical Requirements:


Continually moves around a medical center/healthcare environment 90% of the time.
Consistently grasps, moves or assembles small objects.
Make quick, precise adjustments and manipulate machines and controls.
Consistently uses computers and relays information verbally and through email, messages and phone.
Frequently communicates with others and exchanges information on an on-going basis.
Must be able to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
