Intern - Mechanical Engineer

A Mechanical Engineer Intern is responsible for following established engineering protocols. You will play a crucial role in supporting product development by performing a range of tasks, including prototype development, running experiments, data collection, analysis, and reporting.

What You’ll Be Doing:

1. Assists in product development and prototyping of electromechanical hardware.

2. Conducts routine experiments and/or coordinates research study procedures in accordance with SOPs; receives, collects, and records study data in the database; communicates and keeps researchers and/or PI up to date on any problems or concerns related to the research study or trial.

3. Follow laboratory safety protocol, including annual training modules specific to your role.

4. Ensures proper documentation of experiments, regulatory documents, PI notes, and any other mandatory study-related documents and ensures quality and accuracy; archives documents for study per sponsor, government, and institutional requirements; keeps accurate records and provides necessary documents for regulatory audits.

5. Identify areas to improve research protocol and suggest solutions for implementation.

6. All other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring to the Table:

Education: Enrolled in college coursework in mechanical, aerospace, electrical engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

Required:

1. Understanding of mechanical design and manufacturing.

2. CAD experience (SolidWorks, Fusion360, OnShape).

3. Prototyping experience in both traditional methods and 3d printing.

4. Proficient communication skills.

5. High degree of professionalism.

Preferred:

6. Previous experience in an engineering R&D environment. 

Salary range is: $14.62 to $18.27 USD per hour.
