The evolution of our platform is required for our scale, and we are searching for a passionate software engineer to join our rapidly growing engineering team. The day to day

• Work with a team of passionate engineers to build the future-focused platform powering over 1 million websites at WP Engine

• Collaborate on technical solutions and system designs with engineers across WP Engine

• Write, test, integrate, and debug software applications that are resilient, secure, maintainable, and perform at scale

• Participate in code reviews to share knowledge with your peers and ensure the delivery of high-quality and secure code

• Continuously improve WP Engine’s secure, performant software platform that supports 10’s of millions of end users

• Use and improve WP Engine's continuous integration and delivery pipelines to safely and rapidly push new code to production

• Constantly look for opportunities to automate and optimize

• Work closely with Product Management to ensure that your frequent, incremental code changes deliver new value to our customers
   

Your expertise and passion

• 5+ years experience in a software development role, delivering high-quality software

• Proficient in programming and experienced with the Go (Golang) programming language

• Experience with cloud and containerized technologies and services - GCP, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes

• Experience with the design, deployment (cloud), and maintenance of distributed systems that solve complex problems at scale

• An inquisitive personality, a propensity for learning, and an eagerness to tackle big problems

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or a related field) OR equivalent experience
   

Helpful experience

• Familiarity with Shell script, PHP, or Python programming languages

• Familiarity with common web server technologies and their configuration - Linux operating systems, Nginx, Varnish, MySQL, Apache, PHPFPM

• Familiarity with git/GitHub
