Position Overview:The University of Maryland, Baltimore County seeks an experienced, proactive, and solutions-focused labor and employment attorney to join its Office of General Counsel. Reporting to the Vice President and General Counsel, the Senior Associate General Counsel will engage in a wide-ranging, intellectually challenging, fast-paced, and demanding practice focusing on labor and employment, including faculty employment issues, labor union employment issues, and employment of foreign nationals.

Telework:A hybrid telework schedule may be available.
Responsibilities:Practice areas will focus on providing legal and strategic advice on a wide array of complex topics involving multiple stakeholders, employment contracts, consulting contracts, professional services contracts, general business contracts, general legal support for Administration & Finance, general legal support for Athletics, and mentoring and cross-training junior attorneys.
Required Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
- Juris Doctor from an American Bar Association-accredited law school and eligibility for admission to the Maryland Bar.
- Minimum five (5) years of post-JD, recent, relevant, and broad employment law experience, as well as significant advice and counsel experience concerning complex legal issues.
- A minimum of seven (7) years of general legal experience, including at least five (5) years with increasingly sophisticated experience in providing legal advice to institutions of higher education or comparable entities, whether as in-house or outside counsel.
- Experience providing labor and employment advice and counsel to an entity employing foreign national workers.
- Experience providing labor and employment advice and counsel to an entity subject to collective bargaining.

Salary:Salary: $183,000 to $206,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations.
