HOURLY STARTING PAY: $18.25 - $19.90 (based on experience)

The Park Maintenance Worker II plays a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and overall aesthetic appeal of our Olathe parks. The responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks, ranging from routine maintenance and landscaping to ensuring a positive experience for park visitors. This position requires on call responsibilities which may require overtime and occasional weekend work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs tasks involving mowing and maintenance of parks and public grounds, operation of equipment, repairs to equipment and park assets, and assisting with various basic construction projects throughout the Olathe parks system.

  • Operates a variety of equipment including riding mowers, trucks with trailers, snow removal equipment, hand tools, and a variety of other equipment.

  • Performs a wide variety of manual labor tasks which include shoveling, planting flowers and shrubs, snow removal duties, and lifting.

  • Participates in weekly housekeeping duties, park grounds cleanup, and building maintenance.

Qualifications

Experience: One year of parks or grounds maintenance experience is required. The successful candidate will be a self-starter and able to work with limited supervision.

Education: A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Licenses & Certifications: A valid driver's license with a favorable driving record is required
