We are seeking a Production Planner to join our Oxygen and Life Support Systems team—an area dedicated to developing mission-critical systems that ensure the safety and survivability of aircrew and passengers in extreme environments. This role is essential to maintaining efficient factory operations, supporting programs that directly contribute to saving lives in the air.
The Production Planner plays a critical role in ensuring smooth factory operations by managing work order releases, monitoring work-in-process (WIP) inventory, and coordinating cross-functional efforts to meet production schedules. This position supports the timely flow of materials through the manufacturing process to avoid work stoppages or schedule delays, both of which can impact program cost and delivery performance. The role also supports CORE initiatives and continuous improvement efforts across the site. This role may be eligible for relocation.
What You Will Do
- Release production work orders and track material flow through the assembly process using MRP systems.
- Analyze bills of material (BOMs) of moderate complexity to ensure accuracy and material availability.
- Monitor WIP levels and prioritize work to meet factory demands and mitigate delays.
- Coordinate with quality, manufacturing, engineering, procurement, logistics, and warehouse teams to resolve material or production issues.
- Investigate and address inventory imbalances, scrap, shrinkage, and usage discrepancies.
- Support routing, scheduling, and storage of goods in coordination with traffic and warehouse personnel.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
Qualifications We Prefer
- Background in production control, inventory management, or production planning.
- Experience working in MRP systems (preferably SAP) to release work orders and track BOMs.
- Ability to analyze and maintain accurate MRP data to support production needs.
- Strong understanding of inventory metrics including usage, scrap, and stock levels.
- Skilled in resolving material shortages and coordinating with cross-functional teams on production priorities.
- Familiarity with shop floor processes and troubleshooting day-to-day production challenges.
- Continuous improvement mindset with exposure to lean manufacturing or CORE methodologies.
