Job Summary
Under the general direction and guidance of Dr. Airín D. Martínez, faculty in the School of Public Health and Health Sciences, the Clerical Assistant will provide administrative, bookkeeping, and communications support for three Massachusetts-based, community-engaged research projects examining suicide prevention, healthy food access, and mental health disparities in primarily Latinx populations.
Essential Functions
- Gather information to produce a website.
- Create and update website information as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of research budget expenditures.
- Track and coordinate human subject compensation, purchasing research supplies and completing and uploading expenditure reports on buyways.
- Other clerical duties as needed.
Other Functions
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- There will be an occasional need to do off-campus meetings and/or outreach events in Hampden and Hampshire Counties (2-3x/semester).
Minimum Qualifications
- At least two years of clerical experience
- An interest in public health or community-engaged research.
- Experience designing websites on free platforms such as Wix, Google Sites, etc.
- Experience producing communications materials such as flyers, newsletters, announcements.
- Experience of certain social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Facebook).
- Ability to work independently and be a good problem-solver.
- Detailed oriented.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google applications.
- Must have a valid Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills in Spanish (written and oral).
- CITI training in human subjects' research.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and how to protect patient health information.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions
- Typical Office Environment Activity.
- Driving.
Work Schedule
- Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends; schedule variable. This is a hybrid position.
- This is a temporary, non-benefited position.
Salary Information
- $18/hr.
