Job Summary

This position plays a critical role in advancing institutional effectiveness through the development, implementation, and oversight of comprehensive assessment strategies. The role supports both academic and administrative units in fostering a culture of continuous improvement and data-informed decision-making. Responsibilities include leading assessment planning efforts, analyzing and reporting on learning outcomes and institutional performance, and ensuring compliance with accreditation requirements.

The position also provides training and guidance on assessment best practices, maintains data systems to ensure the integrity and accessibility of assessment data, and collaborates with institutional research teams on strategic initiatives. By aligning assessment efforts with institutional goals, the position supports accreditation, planning, and policy development across the institution.

Job Description

  • Lead and Support Institutional Assessment Strategy: Assist in the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of comprehensive institutional assessment processes that align with strategic goals and accreditation standards. Provide oversight to ensure consistency, accountability, and effectiveness across academic and administrative units.

  • Foster Cross-Unit Collaboration for Assessment Planning: Partner with academic departments, student services, and administrative offices to develop meaningful and actionable assessment plans. Promote a culture of evidence-based decision-making by facilitating the integration of assessment results into programmatic and operational improvements.

  • Analyze and Report on Institutional Effectiveness and Outcomes: Conduct detailed analyses of institutional effectiveness measures, student learning outcomes, and operational performance indicators. Prepare clear, data-informed reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, including leadership, faculty, and accrediting bodies.

  • Deliver Assessment Training and Capacity Building: Develop and lead workshops, training sessions, and one-on-one consultations to enhance institutional capacity in assessment methodologies, data interpretation, and continuous improvement strategies. Serve as a resource for faculty and staff on best practices and emerging trends in assessment.

  • Oversee Assessment Data Systems and Ensure Data Integrity: Maintain and optimize assessment-related data systems to ensure accuracy, reliability, and user accessibility. Develop protocols for data entry, validation, and reporting to support transparency and accountability in institutional effectiveness efforts.

  • Contribute to Accreditation and Institutional Research Efforts: Support the preparation and submission of accreditation documentation by synthesizing assessment results, institutional data, and compliance narratives. Collaborate with institutional research teams on data analysis projects that support planning, policy development, and accreditation reviews. Additional Duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in education, social sciences, or a related discipline required;

  • A minimum of 3–5 years of progressively responsible experience in institutional assessment, accreditation, or institutional research;

  • Demonstrated strength in data analysis, written and verbal communication, and managing complex projects across multiple stakeholders;

  • Proficiency in the use of assessment and data analysis tools such as Tableau, Qualtrics, or comparable platforms.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working with SACSCOC accreditation standards and processes.
