Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

 

Role Purpose:

The HCP Team Leader will have supervisory responsibility for cable operations, overseeing 30-40 hourly associates and 2-3 operations coordinators. The HCP Team Leader will play a critical role in establishing and maintaining cultural norms for the operation, emphasizing work practices, environmental cleanliness, and compliance with policies and procedures.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Safety Leadership

• Ensure tasks are completed safely, following procedures and PPE requirements.
• Promote a culture of safety by addressing unsafe conditions and encouraging reporting.
• Maintain a safe work environment for employees and visitors.

Production Oversight

• Implement production plans to meet quality, cost, and delivery objectives.
• Optimize schedules for efficiency, equipment utilization, and material supply.
• Adjust staffing and machine assignments for optimal product flow and capacity.
• Maintain world-class housekeeping and exceed 5S standards.

Team Development

• Collaborate on employee training and development plans.
• Foster an engaging environment, rewarding high performance and encouraging communication.

Cost Management & Continuous Improvement

• Manage cost drivers, staffing, and labor decisions for optimal output.
• Lead and support Lean and Continuous Improvement projects to enhance operations.

 

 

Experience and Education – Required:

 

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent manufacturing leadership experience
• Minimum 1 year of work experience in a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and computer skills

 

Desired Qualifications:

 

• Degree in Engineering, Technology, Business, or Physical Sciences
• Supervisory experience in manufacturing

The range for this position is $80,750.00 - $111,031.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
