Job Summary:

The Senior Healthcare IT Project Manager – Clinical Systems will lead complex initiatives partnering closely with Epic application teams, custom application developers, and clinical stakeholders to deliver high‑impact solutions across the organization. This role is responsible for managing project timelines, resources, deliverables, and cross‑team coordination for multiple large initiatives, enhancements, and integrations supporting clinical, operational, and analytical capabilities.

Beyond traditional project oversight, this position is expected to actively engage at a deeper level—observing workflows, learning Epic and non‑Epic system capabilities, and understanding how custom clinical applications are built and supported. The Sr. IT Project Manager will analyze current challenges to ensure solutions are well aligned with real‑world clinical and business needs, including data‑driven and AI‑enabled use cases that advance patient safety, operational efficiency, and decision support.

This role will proactively explore how processes work today, ask insightful questions to uncover gaps, map processes and dependencies, and help teams clarify requirements across technical and operational domains. The Sr. IT Project Manager will design and facilitate meaningful testing scenarios, validate assumptions with stakeholders, and support rapid, informed decision‑making. Success in this role requires being a hands‑on partner to Epic teams, custom developers, data engineers, and operational leaders—driving clarity, improving communication, and ensuring strong execution throughout the project lifecycle while enabling innovative, scalable solutions across the enterprise.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and coordinate all phases of complex initiatives across the Systems Intelligence and HDR teams, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.

  • Drive proactive planning, dependency tracking, risk management, and clear stakeholder communication.

  • Develop a strong understanding of operational and technical workflows to inform project decisions and uncover root problems.

  • Map processes, identify gaps, challenge assumptions, and translate findings into actionable requirements.

  • Facilitate working sessions to refine scope, validate use cases, and ensure cross-functional alignment.

  • Create and organize test scenarios, acceptance criteria, and validation workflows; coordinate end‑to‑end testing and issue resolution.

  • Partner closely with technical, operational, and analytical teams to ensure the right people and information are engaged at the right time.

  • Streamline project documentation, reporting, and communication pathways.

  • Identify opportunities to improve project execution, workflow efficiency, and team collaboration.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.

  • Epic experience.

  • Experience with healthcare operational workflows.

  • Knowledge of software development, data platforms, or healthcare application development.

  • Ability to understand complex workflows, ask insightful questions, and translate findings into clear requirements.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Experience creating and executing project plans, test plans, UAT, or workflow-based validation.

  • Strong communication and facilitation skills across technical and non-technical teams.

  • Ability to create process maps, diagrams, or structured documentation for diverse audiences.
