The Aerospace Corporation is hiring an Undergraduate Intern for an opportunity in El Segundo, California.  
 

Job Summary 

The Small Satellite Department at The Aerospace Corporation conceives, develops, and operates small satellite missions in partnership with a broad array of internal and external stakeholders. The integration and operations team within the department currently operates a constellation of more than 20 satellites launched over the last several years, with multiple vehicles scheduled for launch in the next year. The team is currently seeking a full stack developer to support the expansion of software applications used to perform satellite testing and operations.

Work Model:

This position will be located 100% onsite in El Segundo, California

What You’ll Be Doing 

  • Develop software libraries and applications to support satellites testing and operations
  • Perform algorithm and application optimization to support system scaling
  • Assist with software releases, deployments, and documentation
  • Assist with server infrastructure management and troubleshooting
  • Coordinate with subsystem leads to define software requirements and interfaces
  • Working collaboratively on a team and independently
  • Training and mentorship will be provided

What You Need to be Successful 

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Currently enrolled fulltime in an accredited college/university program pursing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or a related discipline
  • Sophomore class standing completed by internship start date 

  • Experience with Python and C/C++
  • Experience with web development, system programing, and REST frameworks
  • This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U. S. citizenship is required to obtain a clearance. 
  • Transcripts required 

How You Can Stand Out 

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these: 

  • GPA of 3.5 or higher 
  • Active security clearance 
  • Experience with ReactJS, Bootstrap, and Python web frameworks (Django, Flask, …)
  • Experience with MySQL, InfluxDB, and Elasticsearch
  • Familiarity with containerization platforms such as Docker
  • Experience with server administration

We offer a competitive compensation package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business.  The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below.  Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.

$26.00 - $28.00 - $30.00

Pay Basis: Hourly
