Summary:
The Office of Advancement is seeking a student assistant to provide professional assistance to the School of Education’s advancement team. Students interested in gaining experience in the field of development, including working with alumni, event, and trip planning, and assisting with fundraising projects are encouraged to apply. The student worker will be responsible for confidential information, so discretion and professionalism are extremely important.
Responsibilities:
Curating alumni and donor information through analyzing data in Excel spreadsheets, conducting online research, and updating information in our database.
Reviewing donor reports and drafting acknowledgement communications including mail, email, and telephone.
Writing and researching briefings in advance of events and donor/prospect meetings to prepare UA leadership with relevant information.
Assisting the team with event planning, business trip planning, and site visit.
Assisting the Chief Development Officer with administrative tasks as needed.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
Part-Time.
20 hours per week.
Salary Range:
$17.50-$19.00 per hour.
Required Education and Experience:
A high school diploma or its equivalent is required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) is necessary.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Successful candidates must be able to communicate effectively in person as well as through phone and email.
Must be able to exercise professionalism and discretion when dealing with sensitive personal information regarding donors, alumni, board members, and other important external stakeholders.
Ability to pay close attention to detail.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, a willingness to learn, and being a team player are all essential for success in this position.
Preferred Education and Experience
Experience with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and database management software/CRM is a plus.
