  1. BASIC PURPOSE

The Christmas Coordinator position is to maintain the kettle office and responsible for recruiting and supporting volunteers to assist in the local Salvation Army Christmas Kettle program.

 

  1. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  2. Recruit volunteers for bell ringing from churches, service clubs, schools, colleges, corporations, corps, advisory board members, their families, youth organizations, senior organizations, volunteer groups, choirs, bands, and individuals. (This includes any past bell ringers/groups.)
  3. Manage TSA online volunteer recruitment.
  4. Manage and communicate with all locations of kettles/stands at store locations.
  5. Keep all avenues of volunteer sign-ups up to date (walk-in, phone, online)
  6. Responsible to maintain all records concerning volunteers, have volunteers fill out paperwork, background check, privacy waiver.
  7. Answer kettle office phone, receive voicemail, return calls, emails.
  8. Schedule delivery of countertop kettles and keep log updated of kettles signed out and pick up.
  9. Sign-out kettles to volunteers and receive and sign-in kettles at each shift.
  10. Keep track of totals for volunteers.
  11. Keep social media updated and post often.
  12. Restock outgoing kettle supplies- candy, stickers, business cards.
  13. Keep track of bells, kettles, kettle stands, signs, repairs, orders, and final assessment.
  14. Make sure kettle slips are properly labeled and are placed in each kettle before volunteer exits.
  15. Help sanitize used kettles and check padlocks.
  16. Help with counting kettle monies.
  17. Any other kettle/Christmas duties as assigned or needed.

 

  1. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  2. Must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver license.
  3. Incumbent must be able to work with minimal supervision, be prepared to encounter a variety of assignments and timelines. Must be able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive materials and information.
  4. Must possess good written and oral communication skills and be able to draft and edit professional level communication.
  5. Must be proficient in computer programs such as Microsoft office (including word, excel, PowerPoint and publisher, outlook email.)
  6. Must have excellent organizational skills including multitasking and time management.
  7. Must demonstrate good judgement and act in a professional manner.
  8. Some understanding of the purpose and goals of The Salvation Army is desired.
  9. Reliable and dependable, ability to work as part of a team.

 

  1. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  2. Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis.
  3. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, cabinet drawers, heavy kettles, reach overhead.
  4. Ability to lift to 25lbs. (usually file boxes)
