Job summary
Ward 513 is a busy medical ward that cares for a variety of patients comprising 24 acute medical beds and 12 respiratory beds. We are looking for registered nurse with a minimum of 1 year's post registration experience to join us.
As well as gaining experience in a range of areas, you will be supported to fulfil your potential from a career progression aspect as a nurse and as a leader. Main duties, tasks & skills required
Providing direct patient care, such as administering medications, conducting assessments, and providing support and education to patients and their families
Developing and implementing care plans for individual patients, in collaboration with other members of the health care team
Monitoring patients' health and wellbeing, and reporting any changes or concerns to senior staff or doctors
Participating in clinical audits and other quality improvement initiatives to help ensure that care is delivered in accordance with best practices and national guidelines
Providing support and guidance to junior staff, such as student nurses or health care assistants
Managing a caseload of patients, including coordinating care with other members of the health care team and ensuring that patients' needs are met in a timely and appropriate manner
Take charge of an area/the ward as required
Engage in Supervision and teaching, acting as a mentor and role model to junior colleagues
Undertake additional roles including acting as link nurse, be responsible for your own knowledge, skills and development
Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and to adhere to the ethical and legal standards of the nursing profession. This may include upholding patient confidentiality, maintaining accurate and comprehensive records, and complying with relevant regulations and policies.

Essential
*Evidence of professional and clinical knowledge acquired through training to degree/diploma level leading to Professional registration on the appropriate part of the NMC register i.e. ( Adult / Child / Learning Disability or Mental Health)
*Evidence of undergraduate education for newly qualified nurses / or post graduate continuing professional development for registered nurses who have post registration experience
Experience
Essential
*Previous / recent experience or working in an acute secondary health and care setting (can include undergraduate student placements within the last 12 months)
*Willingness to become a practice supervisor / assessor to or meets Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) standards for student supervision and assessment
* Demonstrable understanding and knowledge of the NMC code of conduct and the proficiencies and standards for registered nurses can apply this to undergraduate training or post graduate practice
