The Opportunity

As the Project Manager - Federal Services, you will have the opportunity to: 

  

• Manage all aspects of small to large Design Services projects, including risk to cost, schedule, and quality. May handle multiple concurrent projects based on size and complexity. 
• Be responsible for the day-to-day successful execution of contracted engineering, procurement, and construction phase service scopes in the areas of performance, financial metrics, planning, schedule, quality, contractual compliance, safety, and client satisfaction. 
• Manage and lead teams of multi-discipline professionals. 
• Identify requirements for the successful staffing of the project and coordinates staffing with discipline Department Managers. 
• Coordinate and integrate the activities associated with the engineering, procurement, construction phase services, and commissioning elements of the project, including the activities of all third-party companies contributing to a project. 
• Support business capture processes by leading proposal teams for the successful response to client requests for proposal. 
• Support many aspects of Business Development in a “seller doer” role with an emphasis on client satisfaction and repeat business. 
• Actively lead Black & Veatch’s participation in the Federal CPARS contractor evaluation system which is key to qualifying for future work with all Government entities. 
• Have ample opportunity to coordinate with other B&V Federal offices and to coordinate with other Black & Veatch Business Units. 
• Be a key contributor to the growth and development of a newly established office location 

  

Please note: This role may require significant travel CONUS and OCONUS as needed to meet project and client requirements, and other internal/external functions. Once an office is Established - When not traveling, this role will be hybrid: 2 days per week remote, 3 days per week in-office out of a newly established Huntsville, Al location.  
  

This position supports Black & Veatch project work with the U.S. Federal Government. As a result, U.S. citizenship is a requirement.

Typical client base includes Department of Defense (DOD), United States Army Corp of Engineers (USACE) and many private companies in the Federal arena where Black & Veatch frequently teams for project execution in joint venture (JV) roles or utilizes a sub/prime contracting arrangement.
