We are seeking a talented, communicative, and curious Software Engineer (Python) in the Western US (PT or MT) to join our talented, remote-first US team.

About Our Team:The Results by OpenX team works with Data Science and other Engineering teams to create and maintain the platform that enables our customers to utilize our growing suite of AI models. You will have the opportunity to work closely with a team of SWEs and SDETs focusing on different domains (both frontend and backend), making impactful changes to our products.
Key Responsibilities:Apply strong understanding of system architecture and critical components to build scalable and maintainable software Design high-performance, distributed, low-latency systems Architect, create, and deliver new features and functionalityWork with Product to drive the requirements, and own the project end-to-endAnalyze and improve the efficiency, scalability, and stability of servers and processesWrite clean, reusable, readable, and testable code following team coding standardsDesign for testability, and contribute to test plans by writing robust unit, component, and integration testsParticipate in code reviews, providing high-quality and constructive feedback
Required Qualifications:5+ years of working experience with Python in a software engineering roleBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience; we’re open to non-traditional paths with strong engineering fundamentalsExperience with database system designAct as a technical lead on small to medium-sized initiatives, coordinating efforts and ensuring delivery qualityAbility to clearly articulate technical designs, trade-offs, and implementation details to teammates and stakeholdersProactively address technical debt and recommend refactoring strategies
Preferred Qualifications:Experience in digital media, marketing technology, or advertising technologyStrong understanding and application of data engineering and data warehousing best practicesFamiliarity with AI-assisted development tools like Cursor and CopilotExperience working in cloud-native environments (ask us about our migration to Google Cloud Platform!) using Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD pipelinesBe excited to work with emerging technologies and complex projectsFluently speak algorithms, data structures, and platformsExperience with the Python Pandas libraryPursuant to any state, local ordinance, or local hiring regulations, we will consider for employment any qualified applicant, including those with arrest and conviction records, in a manner consistent with the applicable regulation.
